ACS City Wide Head Start Policy Council Liaison
I am very pleased to submit a reference letter on behalf of Ms. Norela Berrio-Tejeda, an active member of the Administration for Children’s Services (“ACS”) City Wide Head Start Policy Council and the impact that her services has had on our organization. As a Policy Council member she works in partnership with the ACS administrative staff to help implement policies and procedures for the New York City Head Start/Early Learn programs in compliance with federal government requirements.
Ms. Berrio-Tejeda was elected as the Program Committee Chairperson by her peers. In that capacity she volunteers her unique and extensive legal and technical skills several days per week providing support to the Council and the MIS staff. She provides an unparalleled amount of technical assistance during the various training conference and meetings hosted by ACS. Additionally, she designed a website, created a newsletter for the council as well as automated various forms which propelled the council to a higher technology level.
Ms. Berrio-Tejeda is an exceptional woman and possesses excellent personal characteristics. She is interdisciplinary and has the ability to multitask all while playing close attention to detail. She conducts herself as a role model for others from her attention to detail as she carries out her responsibilities to the professional manner in which she interacts with others. Not only does she work collaboratively with others, but her sensitivity to and appreciation of others, along with her positive outlook and warm sense of humor make her personable. In every way, she is a people person.
Ms. Berrio-Tejeda consistently demonstrates leadership qualities and those of a strong team player. She volunteers and assists, even if not initially asked. One of her strengths include her bilingual skills and her willingness to translate and serve as a translator for our non English speaking parent advocates. She is reliable, dependable and creative in thought and action. I highly recommend Ms. Berrio-Tejeda. I am confident she will be an asset to your organization, and will be diligent and effective as she carries out the mission of your organization. Should you require additional information, I may be reached at (212) 393-5129.
Sincerely,
